TRAINING COORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Full-time employment opportunity for an experienced computer training coordinator with good organization and time management skills.  The potential candidate must be an energetic and creative self-starter to implement a multifaceted Computer Training and Certification Training Program.  Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential.  All applicants must possess a strong work ethic and positive team attitude with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.  Responsibilities include orientation and supervision of part-time trainers, and coordination of a city-wide community-based training program. All applicants must be able to work independently, think strategically and manage multiple tasks.

Primary responsibilities include overseeing site logistical issues and development of trainer schedules; maintaining supply inventory, equipment setup, maintenance and related issues; ICDL test administration; overseeing the review, selection and placement of incoming students; monitoring training sites; coordinating training and support services to assure successful computer training and certification of program participants; curriculum development and support; development of training and work site agreements; developing monthly reports to adhere with contract compliance.

Knowledge of computer equipment and business software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) is required.  Prospective candidates must be able to become ICDL certified within 15 days, have at least 2 years of experience delivering instructor-led training, and have experience developing lesson plans and information design.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Technical experience and knowledge of MS Office 2003, Corel Office Suite, Internet and E-Mail applications.
  • Course development experience, knowledge of instructional design, desktop publishing, learning theories, technical writing and graphics software.
  • Course delivery and instruction experience (Classroom and computer lab).
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to lift and move computer lab equipment and training supplies as needed.
  • 3+ years technical, or related business, consulting or training experience.
  • BS Degree in Education, Technical area or related Business degree.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop marketing plan and conduct outreach activities to promote training facility.
    • Develop training schedule and oversee training process.
    • Conduct needs analysis, determine course requirements, for target audience.
    • Develop training outlines and course content to meet established needs of target audience.
    • Develop lesson plans and design all required course materials as needed.
    • Develop course documentation, support materials and instructional aids.
    • Provide classroom instruction, develop or modify real world exercises, pre/post tests and other evaluation tools.
    • Provide hands-on instruction as needed.
    • Install, test and troubleshoot lab equipment for student use.
    • Work with the Executive Director and Technology Coordinator, on the development of new courses and modification of existing courses.
    • Assist with maintaining and organizing course materials.
    • Must be willing to work with individuals of all ages.
